05-14-1998 and Vegas98

One of the earlier pics taken of my engine compartment
This shot, taken in May '98, is about when I started to collect pics of my car.

Pic by Kamm @ Vegas '98
Kamm Urqhart took this pic while cruising the Luxor parking lot at
Vegas '98, held in September. Small, but crisp photo! Note the
Greddy S-Type BOV, aluminum upper radiator pipe, & MSD spark
plug wires...neither were there back in the May photo.

The new 2.5" IC pipe- which did away with the restrictive '3000' pipe.

The fittings on the IC pipe just before the TB are for the water injection system, before its install.

04-30-2000

These are from one of many mod sessions.

04-30-00
This session involved rewiring the injectors, shielding them with braiding, & removing the fuel return
line restriction. Cam cover seals, & hard to reach VSVs under the plenum were also replaced.

If you notice the intake port coloration, the last two hadn't been cleaned yet. Yes, I cleaned 'em!
Oh yeah, while I was in there, I did the TB coolant bypass mod- keeps hot coolant out of the TB.

Almost back together!

To the left of the hood latch, you can see the original location of the water injection reservoir,
opposite the radiator overflow tank. After this photo was taken, the battery was relocated to
behind the passenger seat, the radiator overflow tank then took the battery's old spot, the
H
2O tank was relocated to inside the passenger fender, and the Hella horns were put beside
each headlight. Max air flow thru the radiator was the goal.

Here, you can see the relocation of the coolant reservoir & air horns. Max air flow for the radiator.

A decent side overview of the current PCV breather can mod. Look for the -08AN blue hose.

Cleanest MkIII Engine Award winner.
Heh, this thing won the Cleanest MkIII Engine award at Supras Invade Las Vegas V during the Show-n-Shine.
WooHoo!

Cleanest MkIII Engine Award.
The competition at Vegas '02 will take it away. Of that, I'm fairly certain.
Some really fancy ones are expected to show- transplants, & major body kits.
Although I'm sure to lose, I remain anxious to see the cool mods,
& meet the cool folks who put them together.

Turbo Magazine did a writeup on Vegas 2001 to which I had a link posted...they took it down long ago.
