Item #3: BRAND NEW Cosmo High Output Fuel Pump by NipponDenso
    *SOLD*

    NipponDenso car parts homepage.

    Side view.

    Top view.

    Bottom view.

This unit was the one tested by Dave Henry, in his now famous fuel pump flow testing experiments. The body has a slightly larger diameter than the OEM Nippon Denso fuel pump, though it's difficult to tell unless the two units are side-by-side in front of you. They are near clones, so don't worry about fitment- no modifications are required to install this fuel pump. Why is the price lower than the original cost, if it is still brand NEW? Dave's fuel pump testing showed it's flow to be only slightly higher than the MkIV fuel pump. Also, you will be required to obtain a new filter basket that attaches to the bottom of the pump. This part can be purchased from Toyota- 100% OEM interchangeable. Most who've implemented this pump into the MkIII, retain the OEM fuel pump resistor, & also run a modified stock adjustable fuel pressure regulator, usually with no modifications done to the fuel return lines; although, removing the restriction is an option.

Here's a table of outputs in gallons/hour derived from
Dave Henry's [now famous] fuel pump tests:

Fuel pressure Tired OEM MkIV Turbo Cosmo Walbro
    20 PSI
    26 PSI 151.8 228.6 233.2 227.1
    30 PSI 132.9 209.7 217.7 219.9
    40 PSI 99.6 178.7 183.2 193.1
    50 PSI 63.2 141.2 143.8 166.2
    60 PSI 30.3 108.6 106.0 141.2
    70 PSI   62.5 62.8 121.5
    80 PSI       79.1
    90 PSI
    NOTE:
I provided both the 'tired' old OEM, & the Cosmo pumps to Dave.

Item #4: Used Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator [AFPR] by Dave Hall

    View One.

    View Two.

This unit was created by Dave Hall via modification of an OEM FPR. Adjustment on this unit sucks, & I blame it for blowing my motor on the dyno. So, why sell? It -can- work, but it's range of adjustment is really narrow. When my motor blew its ringlands, this AFPR was adjusted too far to one end. So, it -can- work, but is a VERY dangerous item to play with. Only buy it if you're into dangerous experiments. This is the only item on this page that carries NO GUARANTEE, whatsoever. You buy it, & you're on your own.

Original cost: $125 USD Total + my original FPR [$91.38]

    Item #5: Alphasonik PMA-4050sp 4 x 50W [RMS] Amplifier

    Alphasonik.

    Alphasonik.

Installed in March 1997, this unit was taken from service in September 2000, for a total of 42 months of use. In September 2000, I began a complete re-vamp of the audio system in my car due to old speakers, the goal of simplification, as well as weight reduction. During most of its service life, the amp was treated to a battery of cooling fans, & always operated at 4 Ohms- helping the unit operate in a friendly environment. Externally, the unit is in excellent condition.

To see how this particular amplifier was implemented, go to: Previous Audio Setup.

Although not a common "name" brand product, this line of amplifiers came highly recommended, & I was very pleased with performance, especially given the non-status quo implementation done- driving single channels on dual voice coil sub-woofers.

Item #6: Used OEM Washer Tank Pumps

    Washer tank pumps.

These pumps were removed from service long ago, since the entire washer tank assembly had been removed to accomodate other mods to the car. Note that the large pump is missing its connector...I don't recall why the wires were cut. If you need replacement pumps, or have ideas for 'projects' that could use these small, reliable Toyota water pumps, look no further.

Item #7: Near NEW PermaCool 170F Thermostatic Switch

    PermaCool homepage.

    PermaCool thermostatic switch.

    PermaCool thermostatic switch.

This switch can be used to turn on any electrical device on your car based on a temperature of 170 degrees Fahrenheit. Originally meant for the electric fan I installed, I found that 170F turned the fan on much more than the engine required, so opted to replace it with an adjustable switch. I recommend using an intermediary relay when using this switch. The wires on this switch are ~11" long.

The upper grille has been modified to allow much greater air flow [over stock] into the engine compartment. It has been painted with a satin finish black, & not installed since its repaint. The lower grille is as it was removed from the car.

    OldSchool Carbon Fiber Hood

    Details
This carbon fiber composite hood was produced for the SoCAL Supras Group Buy organized by Daniel Matoba. It is a nice hood overall, but did have a noticeable dip near the center...which is why the vents were cut. The vents effectively removed the dip, while providing excellent exhaust of hot engine compartment flow from the radiator, AC condensor, & FMIC. Streamers were attached to the hood along the vents' perimeter to observe the resultant airflow characteristics. Regardless of position, all of the streamers flowed up & outward during any significant forward motion of the vehicle. The vent grilles were attached using clear high strength epoxy resin on the hood's underside.
The Body Glove sticker covers what appears to be a blurb of resin. Kind of like a small round fisheye. I preferred not seeing it, although I would suggest an alternative to the buyer. The sticker was removed, & is no longer on the hood.

Besides somewhat decent looks, & construction, the hood includes a strong OEM-style latch, as well as a custom mounted set of Sparco hood pins. Before the pins' installation, 3 additional layers of 4 ounce E-Glass were applied to the area just under the pins' mounting location using polyester resin. Care was taken not to over-catalyze the resin to maintain optimum adhesion & flexibility properties.

Fit is quite good along the seams, but I did have to bias it toward one side when securing the fasteners, & the gap was not perfect, but close enough not to be an issue. Fitted on another Supra, it lined up differently than mine, so examine the on-car photos with this in mind.
